Recently I posted information about DHEC’s once a year household hazardous waste pickup in Columbia, S.C. – Household Hazardous Waste Pickup!. Please see the below information to help you identify what hazardous waste is in your home and how to use it and dispose of it properly. The pickup date is November 13th and GreenItUp! is still offering a free bottle of MultiPurpose cleaner to anyone that will take our box to the pickup or for personal use.

So, you’ve switched to non-toxic cleaning products and you are wondering what to do with all your unwanted, toxic cleaners still hanging out under the sink. Me too! I have a huge box of them as you can see in the photo. My friend Jason C. says that it is best to try and give them away to someone who would use them anyway. I agree with him but I have been so busy convincing people to switch I don’t know anyone who uses this stuff anymore.

What we can do is make sure that they are disposed of properly. The Richland County Department of Solid Waste & Recycling holds a pickup once a year for household hazardous waste. This year it will be on Saturday November 13th from 10AM to 2PM on the Clemson Rd. Extension across from the Sandhills Village. If you need more information contact Shirley at 803.576.2446.

As you may know, we are moving to Virginia on November 12th. So, If there is someone who would be willing to take my box for me I would be delighted to give you a bottle of GreenItUp!’s MultiPurpose Cleaner in exchange.
